Single motherhood was a shock that twenty-seven year old Margot Grant could have never anticipated.

Raised on utopian fairy tales and southern ideals, Margot pictured nothing less than a bright future with a Prince Charming all her own. Tall, handsome, and hardworking, Rhett Weston fit the bill. While the Weston family wasn't of particular wealth and social standing, Rhett's work ethic ensured that the newlyweds never went without. However, artistically minded and hungry to roam, it didn't take long for Rhett to grow bitter in their arrangement. Work demands rapidly drained the man who had once been gregarious and kind, and an irreparable strain grew upon the marriage. Desperate for escape, Rhett developed a wandering eye which led him to comfort within the arms of another. As the affair progressed, so too did an inescapable self-loathing. And yet, Rhett Weston simply couldn't resist the allure of a double life.

Naive and trusting, Margot considered Rhett's increasing absence from the family home a sacrifice made in exchange for advancement at work – only after a chance meeting at a local eatery would she learn differently. Determined to have Rhett to herself, the other woman had shared every explicit detail she could in hopes that it would drive the final nail in the coffin of their marriage. Exposed and laid bare before his wife, his family, and his community, the shame was too much to bear.

Christina Leigh was just three months old when her father committed suicide. Her maternal grandparents acted quickly, immediately ushering Margot and her three children home to Savannah. Without hesitation, Rhett's family turned from his widow and their three young orphans. It was a shunning all too fitting, they insisted, for it had been Margot's greed that had pushed their son over the brink.

Nestled upon forty lush acres, Christina flourished on her grandparents' land. Precocious and mischievous by nature, the youngest Weston blossomed into an adventurous handful. Though she was the youngest, she was also the most daring and there was nary an opportunity to explore that she didn't immediately snatch. Outwardly, Christina grew into a carefree, vivacious young woman – though those who knew her most intimately were mildly aware of the deep-seated abandonment issues which festered more potently with each passing year. In the southern spirit of keeping up appearances, however, Christina was loath to openly acknowledge them - instead turning to art and poetry as an outlet.

Wishing to remain in-state during her college studies, Christina attended Georgia State University. Located in Atlanta, it allowed her the independence she craved while also affording her the comfortable familiarity of residing within her home state. With the passing of four years, Christina graduated with a degree in Art History and an ever growing desire to explore. Confident and curious as she ever was, Christina moved to New York City in pursuit of adventure and an advanced degree. To make ends meet, she took a job as a gallery assistant in Manhattan. Following graduation, Christina was elated to accept a promotion to gallery manager, running the day to day, brokering relationships with new artists, and negotiating sales. Though the responsibility was vast, the pay was fair and the quality of her professional life was immensely fulfilling. Despite the steady pang of homesickness that clung to her heart, life on the Upper West Side was a dream come true. Not only had she survived the big city, she had found moderate success in an industry she was deeply passionate about. Life was surreal.

It would be the death of her grandfather in January of 2014 that would destroy the seemingly picture perfect bubble she had considered her own. Taking a leave of absence from the gallery, Christina returned to Savannah. Months later, she would return to the city – greeted by an eviction notice, an apologetic lay off, and a series of outstanding utility bills. Once on top of the world in the big city, she had now been unceremoniously reintroduced to the harsh bite of reality. Relying upon her artistic prowess, Christina covered her bills on the modest salary of a freelance artist. But however humble her new existence, she was all too aware of how appreciative she should be to have what little she did. Stubborn as the day was long, Christina refused any and all attempted aid by her mother and grandmother – she was determined to claw her way back from the depths on her own merit. Nothing less would do.

Now solidly back on her feet, Christina remains humble and thankful – for health, comfort, and the love she finds herself surrounded by each and every day. Art has remained at the forefront of her life, and she nurtures a successful online presence where she sells one of a kind sculpted and painted porcelain dolls. Still deeply in the loving glow of her marriage and bliss of new motherhood, the future is both promising and bright - something she believes without question, confident that this is one bubble life simply can't pop.

TO LIVE WITHOUT REGRETS BECAME CHRISTINA’S MOTTO BEFORE SHE WAS EVEN OLD ENOUGH TO CONSCIOUSLY UNDERSTAND THE PHILOSOPHY BEHIND IT. FROM RISKING LIFE AND LIMB TO STEAL A SWEET BEFORE DINNER TIME TO UNABASHEDLY PURSUING CHILDHOOD CRUSHES IN THE NAME OF PUPPY LOVE, CHRISTINA HAS HUNGRILY CHASED AFTER THE GOOD IN LIFE SINCE A YOUNG AGE – NO MATTER THE RISK OF CONSEQUENCE. CHRISTINA HAS HELD STEADFAST TO HER SOUTHERN ROOTS. FRIENDLY, HUMBLE, AND KIND, SHE HAS RETAINED EVERY BIT OF SOFT SOUTHERN CHARM DESPITE HER YEARS IN THE BIG CITY. BUT DON'T LET THAT FOOL YOU - A GENEROUS HELPING OF SPUNK AND SASS COMES WITH EACH DOSE OF THE GEORGIA NATIVE.

• Idolizes her mother. Margot has always stood as a strong, feminist role model in christina's life, encouraging her to pursue each and every opportunity of interest. Though the world is rife with misogyny, Margot has provided her daughter with a toolkit for combating those who have aimed to hold her back based solely on her gender. She has passed down an unstoppable tenacity, the understanding of an importance of a combination of street smarts and formal education, and an inextinguishable will to succeed. This trifecta has yet to lead Christina astray.
